The Story of How the Medicaid STAR Kids Program Coordinates Care for Children with Complex Medical Needs
Through the STAR Kids program, Medicaid managed care provides specialized services and coordination for Texas children with complex medical needs, who often required highly trained care in the home and sophisticated medical equipment. The program partners with doctors and the medical community to better coordinate care and services for these children and their families – coordination that was was not possible in the old fragmented fee-for-service system.
